KAUST Social Responsibility

International Civil Aviation Day

Dec 7, 2020, 11:11 AM by Virginia Sealey

The United Nations has dedicated 7 December as International Civil Aviation Day, to help raise awareness of the importance of international civil aviation to every country’s social and economic development, and viewing “international flight as a fundamental enabler of global peace and prosperity’.

In Social Responsibility, our Young Learners Development Program hopes to encourage and inspire our young scientists on myriad scientific pathways – perhaps some may be intrigued by a path that looks to solve the challenges facing aviation, either through KAUST's PSE or CEMSE divisions. With the UN setting the theme of Advancing Innovation for Global Aviation Development and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives including continuing the development of the country's aviation sector, studies and careers in this sector continue to be relevant and exciting.
