5th KAUST Young Learner's Summer Camp

The 5th KAUST Young Learner Summer Camp was held in 2022 with the objective to inspire, expand horizons and enhance the learning capacity of local school students, by way of engaging talks, hands on workshops and exciting excursions.

Hosted by KAUST Social Responsibility, more than 50 girls and boys, from Grades 10-12, enjoyed learning first hand from their engagement with mentors, WISE interns and KAUST scientists and students while advancing their knowledge, communication abilities, and interpersonal skills.

This summer, students had a chance to take part in 1 of 2 courses: Design Thinking and The Future Of Food, which were further enhanced by enriching excursions to  NEOM’s The Line exhibition at Jeddah Superdome and KAUST Museum as well as social activities.

Graduation celebrations included a poster symposium, which showcased a visual summary of the student’s learnings, as well as a closing ceremony.

An important part of Social Responsibility at KAUST, the Young Learners Summer Camp serves a crucial role in celebrating the achievements of these young learners as well as supporting and inspiring them to pursue their curiosity in science and technology.
