We all utilize ‘soft skills’ when we communicate, interact with people and how we manage ourselves.  While the specific knowledge and skills needed for a given job, so-called 'hard competency skills' are important, being adept at communication, team work and problem solving are equally essential.  Participating in sport and musical activities support development of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, strategic thinking, discipline and problem solving.

Our sports programs for the elementary, intermediate and high school pupils connect Thuwal and KAUST students through playing sports in both Thuwal and on KAUST’s campus. Sports activities are led by KAUST volunteers, and include football, basketball, and volleyball.

We invite Thuwal students to attend cultural events and music workshops held at KAUST.  Musical experience and education support the processes involved in teamwork and appreciation of working towards goals.
